This post will be going over Runes, sigils and scrying. (BIG surprise there, I'm sure you have figured this out from the title) So lets jump right in, shall we?
Runes can be stones or cards or even little wood chips! These are used to seek advice not to predict it. In a way runes are very similar to tarot cards, runes will usually come with a booklet with explanations and you can do different spreads. Runes are an ancient Germanic alphabet, used for divination, magick and writing. While tarot has 78 cards there are only 24 runes (33 if you have the nine extra runes that were added due to changes in language)
Sigils are a way of casting a spell without having to go through a ritual. Sigils can be put literally anywhere. From the bottom of your shoes to your armpit or in a notebook or on a wall. The opportunities for sigils are everywhere. The majority of sigils are protection sigils.
Scrying means to reveal or perceive. When scrying you are opening your third eye, and entering the magickal plane. To scry you will need a reflective item like a mirror or a crystal ball. You can even use water to scry. When you first start scrying, do not fear, scrying will take some time to learn! Scrying is just like riding a bike, at first it might be scary and you will hit bumps along the way but after a few tries you will get it. You might be asking " ok so why should I start scrying?" My answer is simply this, if you have an interest in learning to see your changeable future, it won't hurt to try it.
With a lot of stuff in the witchy world these things need to be learned. So, please be patient with yourselves and do not get discouraged if you don't get it the first few times.
